When George Wienholt came home from the second world war he had a desire to create something new. He had trained in the art of confectionary in Switzerland, and seen food shops piled high with produce in America. He wanted to bring this to Britain and thought Alderley Edge was a good place to do this. He opened his dream in 1950.
All our goods are handmade in our bakery behind the shop. Each day our skilled team of bakers and confectioners use time proven traditional recipes along with only the finest ingredients to create a product unique in its quality. We have been baking this way since 1950 and we intend to continue. We are proud to say we are a true craft bakery serving the community.
